Keisuke Azuma (b. Osaka, Japan) is a Japanese painter

based in Vilnius, whose practice subtly references old

master traditions while reinterpreting them through

atmospheric abstraction.

His compositions often reveal fragmented, ambiguous

figures that appear to emerge from and dissolve back into

raw, exposed grounds. This interplay of construction and

withdrawal reflects a sensitivity to impermanence, drawing

on principles associated with Japanese aesthetics, while

also shaped by his experiences living and working in the

United Kingdom.
